Hello all. Here it is. Perry central. 2008 has been a great year for me. My blues CD, "12 Bars Tonight", has been getting a great response. The release party, on March 9th at Franks Pub, was a great success. I almost ran out of copies! The CD is now available on www.cdbaby.com.
Of course, the biggest project for me this year has been planning the veterans benefit concert, Freedomsong. The event is on December 14th. Read more on the Freedomsong page. "Blueprints of Ruins", 2007's big solo project for me, continues to get rave reviews. Special thanks to Ken Jason, my cohort in lyrical crime. His fantasmagorical wordsmithing really egged me on. Please visit the 'songwriter' page to read more about it. Also thank you to Scott Mclennan of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for a very nice review of 'Blueprints'. Read it here. And don't forget that both 'Blueprints of Ruins' and 'Moment of Truth' are available on www.cdbaby.com. Individual songs can be purchased on ITunes as well. I started my own blues jam this year at the Danger Zone, a great pub in Warren, MA. We had a great stay there from April right through November. Special thanks to Doug Danger. Now we switch the jam over to Greendales in Worcester (see details below). Doctor Robert continues its trips up Rte. 190 into Leominster, to Chopsticks, then back down into Worcester for the Sakura...blah...blah. We'll be at Sakura on New Years Eve, so make your plans. Then there is 'Anytown USA', the musical. Progress is continuing, although at a bit slower pace. It is a wonderful project, but these things take time. And don't forget my occasional appearances with The Silverbacks. So check it all out, and then tell your friends. :-) |

![]() Blues Jam moves to Greendales!! The Sunday blues jam is moving down Route 9!! On November 16, we are hosting the LAST blues jam at the Danger Zone in Warren. We'll take two weekends off through the Thanksgiving holiday, then start up in December right in Worcester, at Greendales Pub on W Boylston St. We are quite excited about the potential. Kenny, owner of Greendales is welcoming us with open arms. Becky Lloyd will be the special feature at our first jam on December 7th. Those of you who have seen Becky perform know how she can whip up a blues storm. What a great way to kick things off! The following Sunday, December 14th, is my veterans benefit, so we'll take that week off. We'll kick right back in on the 21st with Chet Williamson as the feature. Stay tuned for more details as we go!! FREEDOMSONG for the Vets Freedomsong is an idea that I had to give back to the community in some way. One group of citizens that could use the help is returning vets, who often do not get the care and attention they need and deserve. This fundraiser/concert was my way of getting the word out, and enjoying a night of great Bay State music. Check the FREEDOMSONG page here, or go right to the official website here. Solo CD's on CD Baby and ITunes! All of my music is now available through CD Baby. This great webstore also distributes music to many downloadable sites, including ITunes, so you can also purchase my music at those sites. Here;s the link for the CD Baby Moment of Truth page, and here's the one for Blueprints of Ruins. Now, as of March 2008, I have a link fomy 3rd solo CD, "12 Bars Tonight." And please, when you visit, even if you don't buy, take a moment to listen to a few samples, and write down your thoughts in the form of a review at the bottom of the page. Thanks! 'Blueprints' gets rave review! July 15, 2007 - The Worcester Telegram's Scott Mclennan (who has been unfortunately let go by the newspaper) praised 'Blueprints of Ruins' in his column. Many thanks to him. Check it out right here. He really seemed to understand where I'm coming from with this project. By the way, for any of my friends who may support the Bush administration, hopefully we can still hang together! WE WON! March 30, 2007; We won! In the annual Worcester Magazine local music awards (Turtle Boy Music Awards), Doctor Robert won in the category of Best Cover Band! Pretty cool. We're all very proud. That's not all, though. I placed second in the Best Blues Musician category, behind the great John Short. And finally, Hothouse won the 'write in' vote in Best Blues/R&B/Swing Band. So, there you have it! A good year for recognition of my music. ANYTOWN USA getting noticed!!! There has recently been some interest in the musical, 'Anytown USA', by some local theater producers. One in particular is really impressed, and is helping us refine the plot and characters. Although the project is taking alot of time to be considered finished, it is a long road towards what will hopefully be a rousing success. Read mor on the 'Anytown USA' page. |
