Even though creating your own music is unbeatable, recreating some faves from the old days is a real gas too. When Doc Rob plays 'Because' by the Beatles, or 'Carry On My Wayward Son' by Kansas, and nails it, well...... lets just say it really gets the energy flowing. There's a definite chemistry between the four of us. I don't think I'd even be doing the 'cover' band thing anymore if it wasn't for the guys in Doc Rob. HOTHOUSE Hothouse. Yes, Hothouse. (sigh) I love this band. I never would have tapped into my bluesy side without Hothouse. I never would have found out that I really can write in that style. Check out the schedule page for our gigs.
I just want to say a big thank you to Eric Clapton for blending rock and blues the way he has throughout his career. It's been him more than anyone who has turned me on to the power of the blues. And the older I get, the more I respect and revere this form of music. And Hothouse is the vehicle by which I can blend the blues into my music.
